When we conducted our Offering of Letters at our church using the following method. The week before: we gave an announcement, set up a table in the narthex providing letter writing materials for people to take home, and used the bulletin inserts. The week of: gave a temple talk which included the 2-min sermon, set up letter writing tables in the narthex. The week after: set up a table in the narthex, collected additional letters that people wrote at home, presented our letters as an offering for the pastor to give a blessing. We found that spreading it over 3 Sundays, and allowing people to take home the materials, resulted in many more letters (121). Also, many thanks to Matt Newell-Ching and Robin Stephenson. They were awesome in their support and training!

Light Street Presbyterian Church (Baltimore) also spread out our Offering of Letters over three Sundays. We announced it in worship on Easter Sunday (April 4), had a letter-writing table during the fellowship hour after worship on the next two Sundays (April 11 & 18), and dedicated the Offering of Letters in worship on the following Sunday (April 25). Our small congregation of 48 members generated 39 letters to Congress.
