2009 Offering of Letters

John Chapter 6

“We planned our Offering of Letters to coincide with a sermon on Chapter 6 of John. I preached about physical and spiritual hunger, and put a basket in our narthex where congregants could place their letters. Our young adults were very pleased to see us engaging in social justice issues.”

I implore American Christians to ‘give us this day’ by sending letters to members of Congress asking them to focus our foreign assistance programs on efforts to overcome hunger and poverty.”

Rev. Dr. Bernice Powell Jackson
President for North America
